Welcome to choose ‘n’ move

Choose ‘n’ move is the new way to find an available social rented property. This replaces the old Kirklees Council system where you waited indefinitely on a waiting list – now you are in control.

When available council and some housing association properties become empty, we will advertise them online, in our property newsletter and at our council offices. If you are a member of choose ‘n’ move you will be able to tell us which properties you would like to be considered for. Properties that are available for rent will be advertised each week.

Use the menu options on the left hand side of the screen to find out more about choose ‘n’ move.

• Become a member

Click here to find out how to become a member of choose ‘n’ move. Once you have filled in a form we will confirm your membership and send you details of your housing band and what size of property you can apply for.

• Choose properties

You can search for available properties on this website. You can then place a ‘bid’ on properties of your choice - click here to find out how to bid for a property

• Get your results

Find out what happened to your property ‘bids’ by clicking here to look at the bidding results
